Piles

Piles connect the substructure to the ground.

OneStopDeckShop recommend using H4 or H5 (for in ground) treated pine timber piles that are dug into the ground and concreted in to anchor the deck structure to the ground.

Pile Size: Use either 100mmx100mm, 90mmx90mm, or 125mmx125mm square pile timbers.

Pile Length: OneStopDeckShop recommend and stock a range of standard lengths: 600mm, 900mm, 1200mm, 1800mm but can supply any length up to 6000mm.

Decking Joists

Joists sit on top of the bearers and connect the decking to the substructure.

OneStopDeckShop recommend and stock a range of treated pine joists.

Joist sizes*:  90mmx45mm, 100mmx50mm, 140mmx45mm, 150mmx50mm, 190mmx45mm, 200mmx50mm. Depending on the working height, bearer size and span and type of timber deck you want will dictate the best size and span of joist.

Tip: Rule of thumb – 90×45/100×50 joists should span 400-450mm centres.

Decking Bearers

Bearers are the main support members connecting substructure to the piles.

OneStopDeckShop recommend using H3 or H4 treated pine bearers. Come, come in assorted sizes depending on site specific and individual design considerations.

Bearer Size*: Onestopdeckshop recommend and stock 90mmx90mm or 100mmx100mm H4 treated pine bearers but you can also use Two 90mmx45mm, Two 100mmx50mm, 140mmx45mm, 150mmx50mm, 190mmx45mm, 200mmx50mm.

Joist sizes*: 90mmx45mm, 100mmx50mm, 140mmx45mm, 150mmx50mm, 190mmx45mm, 200mmx50mm. Depending on the working height, bearer size and span and type of timber deck you want will dictate the best size and span of joist.
